Last week was a funny old week. It started well but as of Wednesday it went a a bit downhill as Theo got tonsilitis for what I think is the 4th or 5th time since April. Poor bug was suffering. Despite this, and as strange as it sounds, I had a pretty good week.
Monday was a chilled one. I made one of my default store cupboard dinners – chana masala.
Never fails to deliver. We usually get our veg box delivered on a Tuesday so by Monday our fridge is always rather bare.
Tuesday night I attended my twice monthly local crafts group. It’s with a great bunch of women. We just bring our crafts to chat and craft over cups of tea. I always end up bringing my crotchet with me as I’m determined to finish my blanket soon and I can chat whilst doing it without ending up in a tiz.
Oh, and I had a great slice of vegan lemon pound cake with my peppermint tea. Score.
The only good thing about Wednesday was these accidentally vegan finds from Aldi:
The mint thins remind me of christmas (which is far too early to think about).
Thursday night I went to my first ever local vegans meet up!
It was so great to chat with fellow vegans. It can feel a bit lonely in every day life as there are few/if any vegans I feel like I have really connected with. Can’t wait for the next one.
Friday night I trial ran a dahl recipe I hope to share with you soon. The rest of the weekend was busy! Saturday night we treated ourselves to takeaway;
followed by a Sunday morning coffee date.
I adore that top and those cat leggings on Anwen, and my two curly haired boys.
I’m not sure if you guys have noticed but I’ve created a new tab at the top. I’m starting an “Easy Being Vegan” series of posts. My aim is to help people navigate the vegan lifestyle, which I feel really passionate about. There are a couple up already and I’ve also detailed ones that I hope to add at some point soon. I’d like to say that there will be an EBV post every *** day. Alas, I’m sure you guys know me well enough by now to know that I just cannot do blog post schedules. I don’t know what it is but it never works for me. I’m the same with meal plans too. Ah well. Know thy self, right.
