Low FODMAP Snacks (GF, V)

Today I thought I’d share some of my favourite low FODMAP snacks that I eat when my IBS flares up and I’m trying to be sensible.  Some of them you would have seen on here countless times before, but others may be new.

All of these are vegan, gluten-free, and FODMAP friendly.

Fruit and nut mix.

Corn thins topped with dairy-free spread, marmite, avocado and grated carrot (sounds weird but I highly recommend it).

Banana and cashew butter on gluten-free toast.

Blood oranges.  I cannot get enough of these at the moment; try to buy organic ones as they taste markedly better.

Corn thins with sunflower seed butter, melon and grapes.

If you have any questions about IBS and/or the low FODMAPs diet then please leave a comment or drop me an email and I’d be happy to help and share information.  Also, I realise I haven’t done a full post on the low FODMAP diet which I can do in future if you guys fancy it?

Ok, your turn.  What are some of your fave vegan snacks?

  1. I would love to see a full post on FODMAPs. I still haven’t been able to get to grips with it myself, despite so much brilliant advice *shame*. But I would love to hear your perspective on it as a whole.

  2. I’ve not been diagnosed with IBS, but when I get my period I also get IBS-type symptoms. I’ve done a bit of research and apparently it’s common for IBS symptoms to be hormone related. I’ve not considered changing my diet really because I can live with my symptoms (lots of bloating, gas and discomfort), but it might be sensible to make some adjustments when I get a flare up.
I’d definitely be interested in some more information, especially as it would be a big change to the diet that I usually eat on a day-to-day basis.

  3. Yes please~!!! I’m still trying to navigate the FODMAPs maze. I thought I was going ok, but I’m still learning. I was limiting it to 1 cup of beans if everything else was safe but apparently not a good idea… shame, my lima bean and mushroom stew tasted really good.
Fave snacks for me are fruit and veg, I know its boring but it’s true. I love grapes, strawberries, blueberries, mandarins, passionfruit, carrots, cucumber & dijon mustard, baby tomatoes etc.

  4. I’ve just discovered your blog and i’d love more info on FODMAPS. I’ve had IBS for years and i’ve been considering trying an elimination phase but it’s pretty daunting. I’d love to hear any advice you can offer.

  5. Have looked to get gluten free cereal but they all contain maize. Is maize ok or should it be avoided? Thanks

  6. I have colitis and follow the FODMAP diet. I avoid avocado’s, melons and oranges as it makes me symptomatic. Everyone’s different so glad that it’s working for you. 🙂
