Groovin’

So it turns out that I am rubbish at doing nothing.  Having little to do and few demands on my time outside of working hours is a very new concept.  For the last three years I’ve been studying.  Prior to that I spent many an evening agonising over which career path to take and researching options, or trying to read as much on health and nutrition as possible.  Now, I’ve arrived.  I’m about to embark on my career.  And it’s strange, it’s exciting, and I like it!

I’ve been indulging my lazy side by enjoying freshly prepared but quick food, watching TV, and catching up with fiction reading.

Friday night was no exception.  I finally watched Twilight!  I know, I know.  But I’ve always been late catching on to trends.  This trend I am loving.  I cannot wait to watch the sequels (which I promptly went out and bought on Saturday).

As for food, you all know by now that I’m prone to getting into food grooves.  My soy yoghurt and cereal groove and PB on rice cakes groove is still going strong.  In addition to this, my latest groove is for rice salads.  I cannot get enough of them.  Seriously.

Believe it or not, the first and third images are slightly different.  And yes, I know, they all follow the same theme.  But at least I have some self-awareness about it all…

  1. I know what you mean about having some downtime – I moan and go crazy whenever there’s a lot (for me) of work to do, but as soon as I have time to relax I don’t know what to do with myself!

    Your food grooves are so healthy! Mine at the moment are: squash with ketchup (only I can’t find any more Kabocha. Argh!), carrot ‘noodles,’ hummus, olive and sun dried tomato salads, tofu veggie stir-fries and I think pudding GF oats are making a return. Uh-oh!

  2. Just catching up, huge congratulations on your job! I’m so so chuffed for you 😀 I know what you mean about downtime, I suppose now you get the chance to do all the hobbies you’ve never had time for? That’s what I always think when I think about having a career, free time to do what I want and not feel guilty about not studying. Strangely enough I’m not in any food grooves at the moment, I usually have at least one on the go. Although I have been going through gherkins at an alarming rate? Which is a bit strange! xxx

  3. I’m currently in a carb groove- tortilla chips, brown rice, cous cous, etc. Can’t get enough & I love it 🙂

  4. The rice salad looks delicious – I’m not surprised that you’ve been eating it a lot! At the moment I’m eating lots of rice cakes, although I try to vary the toppings I put on them.
    I love a little bit of downtime, but when I get a few days together when I haven’t got anything to do in the evening I either get bored or just veg out watching endless DVD boxsets … I enjoy that though!
