Practising Kindness Commences

practising kindness

Welcome to October and Practising Kindness month!

Since today’s the first day of Practising Kindness I think it’s best to start by examining our intentions and identifying areas where we do not practisce kindness towards ourselves.  This can be done through journalling or blogging our thoughts.

When practising kindness, self-acceptance is key.  Yet it’s so difficult.  Especially as we’re surrounded by messages encouraging us to do otherwise.  Therefore,  self-acceptance is an important goal that we should each have for this month and beyond.

Here’s my starter plan for practising kindness:

  • To wake up each day with practising kindness at the forefront of my mind.  When I feel negative emotions I will stop and examine these; identifying their source, and their worth, and whether the emotions and thoughts are things that I need to something about or make efforts to let go of.
  • Daily journalling
  • Daily practice of self-acceptance
  • To eat without restrictions (other than the IBS necessary ones) and intuitively, with love
  • When I have fat days, I will make every effort to wear clothes that celebrate my body rather than hiding my body (and my fat feelings) under baggy clothes.

Now it’s your turn.  What are your plans for practising kindness?

For my fellow bloggers, if you’re going to blog about Practising Kindness, I would love for you to use the image at the top of the post on your own blog when you do post about it.  All you need to do is copy and paste this code:

Hope you’re having a great weekend.  Bring on self-love and kindness this month! 🙂

  1. I just commented on the first Practising Kindness post but I’m going to comment on this too because I really love it!
I want to join you on the daily practice of self-acceptance, I need to remind myself of the positive things about myself because I can be very quick to see the negative aspects of my personality and my life.
I think my plans to volunteer with helping young children in disadvantaged schools to learn to read will fit well with this goal 🙂

  3. I love the idea of this post, sweetie, it is absolutely beautiful – and I love that you have created a practising kindness month. 🙂
in yoga philosophy, (I learned this on my yoga teacher training) there is a concept called ahimsa, which means non-violence, compassion and kindness. And you can practice it internally and externally – towards yourself and towards others. It resonated with me so much in both respects that I got the sanskrit tattooed on my wrist, as a daily reminder to practice it.
Wishing you a wonderful kindess month – I love all your steps that you listed here and will practice them myself ❤ xyx

  5. Howdy this is kinda of off topic but I was wanting
to know if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually
code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding knowledge so I wanted to get
advice from someone with experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
