Gluten is Evil… and Wales

Hey guys, wow it feels like a long time since blogging but it’s only been less than a week!

To be honest, I’ve been out of the blogging scene a bit because I was glutened (again!) at the parents-in-law’s place.Β  Twice in less than 2 weeks has really knocked me back.Β  It’s gotten me down a bit and shaken my confidence, not to mention the physical side effects.Β  As a result, I’ve had little energy and have been feeling rather low.Β  I’ve not been sleeping well either which hasn’t helped my mood or recovery.Β  On the food front I’ve been keeping it fresh and simple, with lots of green juices and smoothies (which has helped big time).

Aside from the evils of gluten, Tom and I had a lovely stay in West Wales.Β  Such a beautiful part of the world; I’m not biased… honest…

And Tom is so happy and relaxed when he’s with his dogs.Β  Since we’ve been back he’s been rather broody for a dog.Β  The hope is that next summer we’ll be able to move and get a house with a garden, which will enable to us to have a dog or two…

Lots of time was spent enjoying the Collins’ lovely garden,

Playing Scrabble (which, for the record, Tom is too good at),

and being visited by some friendly young cows in the field that backs away from the garden.

And I enjoyed relaxing with Cadi and coffee, in front of the TV.

Since our return late last Tuesday, I’ve been in recovery mode so have had lots of sofa time.Β Β  However, my love of food has meant that I still managed to find the energy for some kitchen love…

recipe coming up soon! πŸ™‚

  1. I’m sorry; I always hate going to Whole Foods salad bar and thinking everything is alright only to feel the side effects the next day. It’s a mess.

I’m glad you’ve had some time to start feeling better, and I hope you continue to heal!

You look so cute in that picture:)

  8. SO sorry about getting “glutened”. 😦 It really sucks. One time it took me a full week to recover from being glutened. It was miserable. It really messes with your sleep and energy levels, too, doesn’t it?
Scrabble rocks. Hubby and I have a ritual of sharing an avocado while we play Scrabble. πŸ™‚

  9. Ugh! Sorry you were glutened! I hope you feel better soon!
(oh and I’m terrible at scrabble) lol

  10. From the title I thought you were saying that Wales is evil πŸ˜‰

Scrabble’s amazing. I had my first game in ages last weekend with someone who doesn’t play using SOWPODS, which completely threw me. It seems I’m not so good when not relying on 2 letter words and those that aren’t actually ever used in english language :p
