I have not forgotten you. It has been a whirlwind month and what feels like a century since I last wrote here. So much has been happening. I have been trying to get to grips with my newly discovered food intolerances and am now feeling adequately equiped to embark on this new culinary journey. I have finished life in the world of employment for the next 3 years in order to study to become a registered general nurse. And Christmas is almost upon us and I have barely started shopping for presents! Yet, despite the rushing around I have somehow found the time to attend the annual yuletide gatherings (evidence pictured above; apparently champagne is yeast free, hurrah).
I have been trying to decide what to write about since I don’t have a recipe to share or new foodie delights. Despie this lacking I have wanted to post here as I have missed you, dear readers. I was thinking about posting some musings on the meaning of the winter solstice but this could lead to controversial blog territory. So, all I shall say is this:
Today is the winter solstice; commonly viewed as the end of the darkness. From this time until the summer solstice our days slowly become longer and our nights shorter. It is a celebration of rebirth. After much thought I have decided what rebirth means for me but what does this mean for you?
Happy Winter Solstice!
